The official OCCJA about page says Moore Detention Center opened in 2016, while an OCCJA homepage facility card uses an establishment wording tied to 2018. ICE's 2018 inspection described the building as a two-story indirect-supervision facility, built in 2016 and housing detainees beginning in 2017. It reported adult male ICE detainees of all custody levels and male non-ICE detainee workers during the inspection period. That inspection is dated, so current custody should be confirmed through the facility or the responsible agency.

Moore Detention Center Population

Published population data for Moore Detention Center is more limited than the facility description. OCCJA reports more than 500 combined detainee capacity across Okmulgee County Jail and Moore Detention Center. It does not publish a separate current daily count for Moore in the reviewed public pages. ICE's 2018 inspection provides the most detailed building-level description: four general-population housing units with bed capacities from 51 to 60 beds each and a special management unit with 10 cells.

Lookup Moore Detention Center Inmates

Moore Detention Center lookup requires a custody-type check. The local Tiger roster may show a detainee when the person is included in OCCJA's public rostered population. Immigration detainees should also be checked through the ICE Online Detainee Locator System, which searches by A-number and country or by biographical information in the live application. A sentenced state prisoner moved to Oklahoma Department of Corrections custody belongs in OK Offender Lookup, not a Moore-only local search.

1. Search the local OCCJA active roster first if the person may be listed in the county detention system.
2. Check the recently booked and recently released tabs when the custody event may have just changed.
3. Use ICE ODLS if the person may be in immigration custody at Moore Detention Center.
4. Use BOP only for sentenced federal custody or BOP-held people, not for every federal pretrial hold.
5. Use ODOC when an Oklahoma sentence has moved the person into state prison custody.

Federal pretrial detainees can be harder to confirm. That form is best for written records that are not visible on the public roster, such as older booking documents or records requiring a formal response. It asks for requester details, an email address, relationship to the record subject, and a description of the record sought.

Moore Detention Center Visitation

OCCJA's inmate-services page publishes visitation hours for County and Annex. The research did not find a separate Moore-only visitation table, so the OCCJA schedule should be used unless the facility gives a newer instruction. Visitors must be preapproved, must bring valid identification, and visits are listed as 30 minutes. All visitation times are subject to change, and approval is especially important for a contract or immigration detainee because the responsible agency can affect movement, holds, and access.

OCCJA requires approval for younger visitors: age 15 and under requires chaplain approval, while ages 16 to 18 require watch commander approval. Clothing and conduct rules are strict. The published list bars electronic devices, tobacco, marijuana products, masks, open-toe shoes, offensive wording or pictures, transparent or mesh clothing, low-cut clothing, tight or short garments, and other items that staff can reject at entry.

Moore Detention Center Mail and Money

OCCJA's mail and money rules are authority-wide in the reviewed inmate-services material. Mail must travel through the U.S. Postal Service and must include full sender and recipient details. Friends and family should use the inmate's full name and the OCCJA mailing format. If a detainee is under immigration or federal custody, it is still wise to confirm that mail routing has not changed before sending time-sensitive documents.

The prohibited mail list is detailed. Do not send altered or defaced postcards, paint, crayon, marker, stickers, watermarks, stains, perfume, lipstick, nudity, weapons, gang references, glitter, greeting cards with electronics or embossing, colored envelopes, or photo collages. Plain black ink or pencil is the safer format when writing by mail.

Identity, custody authority, medical screening, classification, housing assignment, property, and record creation determine what can be seen by the public. The local roster may show age, gender or sex, booking number, booking date, arresting agency, physical descriptors, charges, bond or fine information, and a booking photo when a profile is listed. It may not show the agency detail needed to resolve every immigration or federal hold.

Moore Detention Center Operations

PREA information is published by OCCJA, including a zero-tolerance statement for sexual abuse and sexual harassment, confidentiality for reports, and a ban on retaliation. Family members can use administration contact for third-party reporting, while detainees have hotline access through inmate phones.

The 2018 ICE inspection also mentioned standards such as grievance systems and accreditation status at that time. Because inspection findings age, do not treat them as a current certification statement. Current status, mail access, visit approval, and custody confirmation should come from OCCJA or the agency that controls the detainee's case. If a person began in local custody at Okmulgee County Jail, a later transfer to Moore can change which lookup path gives the best answer.
